With a variety of steel plate grades and thicknesses in stock, you can have exactly what you need delivered to your shop or job site with next day delivery. While most steel suppliers carry one type of product, Intsel Steel West has plates, beams, angles, and more to cover your entire order with one shipment.
A36
A36-grade carbon steel works well for general applications for welded, bolted, or riveted plates. Up to 8” thick, these steel plates offer a minimum yield strength of 36 ksi and minimum tensile strength of 58 ksi. Any plates over 8” thick have a minimum yield strength of 32 ksi.
A572-50
As a high-strength, low-alloy steel, steel plate that meets A672-50 standards can be used in riveted, welded, and bolted applications requiring a reduced weight for cost savings. This columbium-vanadium steel plate up to 4” thick offers a minimum yield of 50 ksi. Intsel Steel West also offers Charpy V-Notch testing.
A588
This copper-bearing steel plate is high-strength and low-alloy for a minimum yield strength between 42 ksi and 50 ksi, with two to four times the corrosion resistance than carbon steel without copper. Intsel Steel West carries A588 plates up to 8” thick, and these plates can be used in any application requiring riveting, bolting, or welding. With the copper, they can lower costs due to their reduced weight and also eliminate concerns about atmospheric corrosion.
