Structural Steel Angles

With a wide range of steel angles available, Intsel Steel West is your single source for steel in the western United States. As a wholesale steel supplier for our clients, we hold the steel in our facility at a fixed price and just-in-time delivery (typically next day!). Our high-quality, hot-rolled carbon steel comes from sources around the world to ensure the best steel for our clients.

Structural steel angles have three surface treatments: no coating (black) and painted. Intsel Steel West provides no coating, while the contractor typically paints the steel on-site after constructing.

Bar vs. Structural Angle sizing and availability

The main difference between bar and structural angles are the size: the leg dimensions of a bar angle are less than 3”, while structural angles will have a leg dimension greater than 3”. Intsel Steel West carries both in popular grades and lengths.

• A36 Carbon Steel: With a minimum tensile strength of 58 ksi and minimum yield strength of 36 ksi, A36 steel is an excellent choice for welding.
• High Strength Low Alloy steel (HSLA) is hot-rolled with a higher tensile strength than A36, but still just as weldable. A572 has a 50ksi minimum yield strength and 65 ksi minimum tensile strength.
• A588 steel is another HSLA option with copper resulting in better corrosion resistance for outdoor applications. This A588 specification provides a 50ksi minimum yield strength and 70 ksi minimum tensile strength.
